There are multiple uses for a Personal Web Presence (PWP) but ultimately it is a site that represents an individual or a group. As an educator I believe that a PWP needs to be very professional and directly related to job related items. While looking over the examples given, it would seem that the majority of the individuals utilized their PWP in the correct and professional manner. I believe it is imperative that they are personal to the point that the visitor can get a glimpse of your personality. It should not however become unprofessional in language, material and should not link to personal sites.
One aspect that I liked about DeAnna Butler’s PWP is she developed a Player Game Film Survey for her basketball players. She obviously utilized her PWP to showcase her education and experiences as well as use it for current needs such as surveys for her basketball players. Another aspect I enjoyed was a resume posted by Matt Souza utilizing Prezi, which looks to be an interactive and updated PowerPoint video. I have never seen this done before and it is definitely interactive and more exciting than plain text on a webpage.
While looking through some of the sites, I felt that some of the sites displayed small font. This can be difficult for those individuals who have difficulty in this area and may deter someone from viewing their PWP; as a result font should be enlarged. While going through some of the links to twitter, email, Facebook I noticed that not everyone was familiar with how to link on weebly. Utilizing links creates a page that is easy on the eye and provides clarity for visitors. There are a lot of features that I need to learn how to utilize. Prezi and surveys are something that I would ultimately like to use for my PWP. I also was to insure my PWP is pleasing to the eye and contains all the information needed but not written with long and lengthy text.
